Supporting Our Neighbors
Biddeford recently experienced tragedy, and our community lost a valued neighbor. Better Biddeford works to connect people and foster a resilient, healthy community. We have received many questions about how people can help.
At this time, the most helpful ways to offer support are:
- Volunteer to deliver mutual aid. To get involved, contact our mutual aid team at annebetterbiddeford@proton.me
- Make a donation to the Maine Solidarity Fund, Food for All, and/or Better Biddeford (see below).
- Be kind and patient with vulnerable neighbors as our community responds and supports those affected.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out, volunteered, donated, or shown care for their community. Additional information and opportunities to help will be shared as they become available.
Give to the Mutual Aid Fund
Financial contributions allow the group to respond quickly to urgent needs, including food, essential supplies, and emergency support.

When donating, include a memo to direct funds:
- FOOD — Food for hungry families
- HYG — Toiletries
- REPRO — Reproductive healthcare
- FAM — Families affected by ICE
- FLEX — Flexible community fund

The Biddeford community is coming together to share resources, offer help, and respond to urgent needs. Mutual aid helps our community respond quickly when needs arise.
What Mutual Aid Means
Mutual aid is community care in action. It’s people sharing time, resources, and information so neighbors can get through difficult moments with support.
How to Get Involved
Mutual aid depends on participation. Some people need support, some can offer support, and many move between both at different times.
Current Needs
Efforts may include:
- Grocery and essentials support
- Rides to appointments and errands
- Connecting neighbors with local resources
- Support navigating housing, grief, or crisis services
- Strengthening community connections
